The Taylor Baby series of guitars offer a great travel design and all feature a solid spruce top and come with a deluxe gig bag! This 15/16 Dreadnaught body has a surprisingly full tone and offers guitarists an affordable way into the Taylor range.
How do Taylor do this at this price? Part of the secret is in Bob Taylor’s unique and clever bolt on neck design. Not only does this design make the neck joint more stable and less prone to developing a hump, but it also makes the guitars much quicker to build (thus keeping the price down). The tops on the guitars are all solid spruce, but the back and sides are made of a compressed wood. Again, the sound is good, but the costs and manufacturing time of using this technique are low.
