The Ibanez TMB30-BK 30″ Short Scale Bass in Black is In stock available now for fast UK delivery online for GBP 219 + Delivery. This excellent piece of kit is manufactured by Ibanez and in New condition and comes with a great warranty.

The Ibanez Talman guitars were originally launched back in 1994 but sadly it was only after they were discontinued in 1998 that people really got attached to the guitars. Now in 2016 the Talman is coming back and that includes this TMB30 short scale bass that captures the sound of some of the world’s most popular vintage alternative basses.

Short Scale

With just 30″ of space between the bridge and the nut this bass is a lot smaller than some. This makes it much easier to play not only for beginners but for pros as well who may want to take advantage of a smaller neck making long stretches and fast passages a breeze.

It also makes a slight difference to the tone of the bass as well. As you have less tension on the strings your tone gets a lot more of a throaty midrange that can cut through the mix like a dream.

Comfort Build

While the Talman may not be a conventional bass shape neither really fitting in to traditional or modern stylings it has still been carefully designed for comfort. Made from Mahogany the body as a bit of weight to it but adds a lot of low end thump to the sound while the Maple neck coated with a Rosewood fretboard adds a bit of snap to the sound keeping the balance in check.

Versatile Electronics

Simplicity is key to the setup here. While Ibanez are known for their very powerful active setups they also know when they need to tone it down. So the TMB30 has a very simple J/P pickup selection from Ibanez selection of Dynamix pickups. These were designed after classic passive electronics from the 60’s and 70’s that helped give the first short scale basses their signature throaty sound.

Here’s what Ibanez say about the TMB30 Short Scale Bass

The Talman bass series combines the re-emergence of a historic Ibanez body shape with powerful genre-hopping versatility. In 2016, the series lineup is expanded with a 30″ scale model. Following in the tradition of the 6-string bass of the 60’s, this bolt-on neck promises comfortable playability with its 30″ short scale  for beginners and even electric guitar players.  Included as well is the Ibanez DXP neck pickup and DXJ bridge pickup  which offer a rich and vintage tone.

About Ibanez

We have new and used Ibanez gear available on our website for fast direct delivery direct to you from across sellers in all areas of the USA & UK.

The Hoshino Gakki company began in 1908 as the musical instrument sales division of the Hoshino Shoten, a bookstore chain. Hoshino Gakki decided in 1935 to make Spanish-style acoustic guitars, at first using the “Ibanez Salvador” brand name in honor of Spanish luthier Salvador Ibáñez, and later simply “Ibanez”.

In the 1970s, the Nisshin Onpa company who owned the Maxon brand name, developed and began selling a series of effect pedals in Japan. Hoshino Gakki licensed these for sale using the name Ibanez outside Japan. These two companies eventually began doing less and less business together until Nisshin Onpa ceased manufacturing the TS-9 reissue for Hoshino Gakki in 2002.
