The Friedman Runt 20 2 Channel 20w Guitar Amp Head is In stock available now for fast UK delivery online for GBP 1449 + Delivery. This excellent piece of kit is manufactured by Friedman and in New condition and comes with a great warranty.

The Friedman Runt is the latest in small sized amplifiers from the boutique kings of British rock tones. Handmade in the USA this premium little amplifier has 20w of all valve power running through a single 1×12″ speaker which may not sound like much but wait until you heard the volume and feel the low end coming out of this little thing.

2 Channels

The heart and soul of any Friedman amp is in the overdrive. While they do replicate the best of classic black and gold British clean tones with a modern twist as well, the overdrive is where Friedman really shine. With 2 channels you get the best of both worlds in this amp with a powerful and loud overdrive channel as well as a beautiful midrange heavy clean channel that man rockers love.

Crystal Clear

There are two problems with a lot of smaller amps. One of the big ones being lack of string definition when using a lot of gain. While a lot of classic rock and metal styles don’t mind losing out on that for the extra distortion some modern players want clarity in their notes. By using the cleanest signal path possible Friedman have managed to tune the Runt so you can hear every individual note even in massive chords. This also helps single note lines really push the amp and sing.

Plenty Of Power

The other big issue with smaller amps is that generally they lack a lot of the low end, midrange and volume that guitarists need. Not with the Runt. Even at 20w this amp is very, very loud. Honestly I can’t think of many situations where this wouldn’t have enough power as by the time you run out of volume you would already be using a mic on the cab…or maybe not with this amp.

Cab Sim Out

Wait what? A cab sim out on a boutique amp like this? Yep Friedman have spent a long time working on this part of the amp to make sure it is usable in every situation unlike some other direct outs. Plus it even has an internal load box so you don’t even need to use the speaker. Just set up as normal, plug the XLR in to the back, run that off to front of house and you are ready to rock. With two different ‘mic positions’, level controls and a ground/lift switch you may be surprised just how many times you use this feature.

Pedal Lovers Dream

Is there anything this amp doesn’t do! This amp loves pretty much any pedal you can chuck at it. From overdrives, boosts and fuzzes in the front end (especially pushing that overdrive channel set to a light crunch), to chorus, reverb, delay, and pretty much anything else in the ultra clear, series effects loop. Everything you would want to use with this amp will sound great.

20w Head Version

This is the 20w head version of the Runt. Weighing in at 22lbs this is actually a nicely portable amp that you can easily move from gig to gig. With three 12AX7 preamp tubes and two E. Please read more for images, details and to place an order.

20

20W

20W refers to the power rating of an amplifier, indicating it can deliver 20 watts of output. A 20-watt amp is ideal for practice, small gigs, and studio recording, offering a good balance between volume and portability. These amps can provide rich tone and natural overdrive at manageable volumes, making them popular with guitarists who want quality sound without excessive loudness.

Amp

An amp, short for amplifier, is a crucial piece of equipment that boosts the signal from your guitar or other instruments, allowing you to control volume and shape your tone. Guitar amps come in various styles, including valve (tube), solid-state, and digital modelling, each offering unique sound characteristics. Whether you’re practicing at home, recording in the studio, or playing live, the right amp can make all the difference in achieving your desired sound—from clean and crisp to rich overdrive and distortion.

Channel

Guitar

Here at GPAS we have everything guitar from music to guitars amps pedals and stuff. The guitar is a versatile stringed instrument played across countless genres, from rock and blues to classical and jazz.

Typically featuring six strings, it produces sound by vibrating strings stretched over a wooden body or solid frame, amplified acoustically or electronically.

We have Guitars in all types, including acoustic, electric, bass guitars and electro-acoustic, each offering different tonal characteristics and playing styles. For many, the guitar is both a tool of expression and a lifelong obsession—lending itself equally to raw power, subtle nuance, and everything in between.

Guitar Amps

Guitar amps are essential for shaping and amplifying your sound, whether you’re playing electric, acoustic, or bass guitar. They come in various types—valve (tube), solid-state, and digital modelling—each offering different tonal characteristics and features. From compact practice amps to powerful stage-ready combos and heads with matching cabs, this category covers all your amplification needs. We stock a wide range from trusted brands, offering everything from clean tones to all-out distortion, perfect for home practice, recording, or live performance.

Head Amplifier

A head is the amplifier unit of a guitar rig that contains the electronics responsible for shaping and boosting your guitar’s signal. Unlike combo amps, a head does not include built-in speakers and needs to be connected to a separate speaker cabinet. This setup offers greater flexibility, allowing players to mix and match different heads and cabinets to tailor their tone and volume. Heads come in various types, including valve (tube), solid-state, and modelling, catering to a wide range of sounds and playing styles.
