Sound

The GS100 has three single-coil pickups – the parts of the guitar that take the sound of the strings and directs it into an amp. These produce a twangy, bright tone suited to crisp clean sounds and searing solo leads. There are loads of sounds to explore because of the three interchangeable pickups. Perfect for players who want to play lots of styles of music.

You might be wondering what the protruding handle is coming out of the bridge. This tremolo or 'whammy' bar as it's commonly known, lets you change the note of the string without moving your left hand. You can get extremely creative with the tremolo.

Looks

Almost every guitarist has played or owned an S-style guitar, be it one suited to blues, folk, jazz or metal. The double-cutaway makes it extremely easy to get your left hand up to the highest of the 22 frets. These are the thin metal bars across the fingerboard. The more you have, the more notes you can play.

Rosewood

Rosewood is renowned for its warm, rich, and resonant tone, characterized by pronounced lows, sparkling highs, and a smooth midrange. Guitars with rosewood components, such as fingerboards and bridges, are often praised for their depth, sustain, and tonal balance, making them well-suited for a wide range of musical styles and playing techniques.

Rosewood has a long history of use in guitar making, dating back to the early days of acoustic guitar construction. Many iconic guitar models, such as the Gibson Les Paul and Fender Stratocaster, have featured rosewood components throughout their history, contributing to its enduring popularity among guitar makers and players.

Overall, rosewood is valued for its exceptional tonal qualities, stability, durability, aesthetic appeal, and historical significance, making it a preferred choice for guitar components such as fingerboards and bridges. While alternative tonewoods are available, rosewood remains a staple in guitar manufacturing due to its unique combination of tonal characteristics and visual beauty.

Vintage

A vintage guitar is a guitar that is considered to be of significant age, typically over 30 years old, and often possesses historical, cultural, or collector’s value. Vintage guitars are highly sought after by collectors, musicians, and enthusiasts for their craftsmanship, tone, playability, and historical significance.

Vintage guitars can come from various eras, each with its own unique characteristics and desirability.

Vintage guitars often exhibit signs of wear and aging, which can add to their character and authenticity. However, originality, condition, and provenance are crucial factors that determine the value of a vintage guitar. Well-maintained and all-original vintage guitars with documented history and provenance tend to command higher prices on the collector’s market.

While vintage guitars can be valuable investments, they are also cherished for their playability and the unique sonic characteristics they offer. Many musicians prefer vintage instruments for their mojo, vibe, and connection to music history.
