Available from Guitar Pedals Amps & Stuff for only £ 24.99 – Vintage tone modern performance Delivering the best of both worlds the SubZero Slick Lick Vintage Overdrive Pedal is the perfect blend of power and practicality The most impressive feature is the toggle switch which engages the integrated boost circuit greatly expanding your options. “Normal” instantly gives you that vintage tone associated with many seminal albums whilst “Boost” provides an additional 6dB of gain to increase saturation in your tube amplifier to the point of break-up. Alternatively this pedal can generate thick drive all on its own while the flexible controls allow you to unlock a range of driven sounds: Gain- Adjust the gain control to determine the exact amount of overdrive present in your signal. Lower values will add a subtle “crunch” to your sound whilst higher values make the signal hotter and deliver dirtier tones.Tone – Tone acts as an equaliser. When positioned central your signal will be uncoloured. Turning the knob to the left will produce a darker tone whilst right offers a brighter sound. Adjust this according to suit the style of music and arrangement.Volume – Use this to adjust the Slick Licks output level when the pedal is engaged.All-analog brilliance The secret to all classic overdrive sounds lies in their analog circuitry the Slick Lick is no exception. Analog components help lend a distinctive warmth that cannot be replicated. This brings out the richness and vibrancy of the overdrive with sparkling overtones and a natural sound quality. The Tone control allows you to alter the brightness of your signal. Place the knob central for a flat neutral tone. For a darker sound move the knob to the left. Should you desire a brighter tone then position it to the right. Gain sets the intensity of the overdrive and Level provides your volume control. Use these in conjunction to carve your dream drive tone. The true bypass design guarantees your dry signal will remain untouched so this is perfect for times when your sound just needs that extra lift. Overdrive

Overdrive is a type of guitar effect that simulates the natural distortion that occurs when a tube amplifier is pushed beyond its clean limit. Overdrive pedals achieve this by boosting the input signal of the guitar, causing the amplifier to saturate and produce a warm, saturated, and crunchy sound.

Overdrive pedals are commonly used in various styles of music, including rock, blues, and punk, to add grit, sustain, and harmonic richness to the guitar’s sound. They are versatile tools that can be used to achieve a wide range of tones, from subtle breakup to full-on distortion, depending on the settings and the amplifier being used. Some classic examples of overdrive pedals include the Ibanez Tube Screamer, the Boss OD-1, and the Fulltone OCD, among others

Vintage

A vintage guitar is a guitar that is considered to be of significant age, typically over 30 years old, and often possesses historical, cultural, or collector’s value. Vintage guitars are highly sought after by collectors, musicians, and enthusiasts for their craftsmanship, tone, playability, and historical significance.

Vintage guitars can come from various eras, each with its own unique characteristics and desirability.

Vintage guitars often exhibit signs of wear and aging, which can add to their character and authenticity. However, originality, condition, and provenance are crucial factors that determine the value of a vintage guitar. Well-maintained and all-original vintage guitars with documented history and provenance tend to command higher prices on the collector’s market.

While vintage guitars can be valuable investments, they are also cherished for their playability and the unique sonic characteristics they offer. Many musicians prefer vintage instruments for their mojo, vibe, and connection to music history.
