Texas-based manufacturer Ryra are perhaps best known for their Klone overdrive, a faithful recreation of – yep, you guessed it – the Klon Centaur.

The highly sought-after Klon overdrive sound has been replicated more times than we've listened to Led Zep IV – it's a lot, trust me. That having been said, the Ryra Klone immediately made waves in the guitar world; many proclaimed it to be the most accurate, vibrant nod to the Klon that they'd ever heard. It cemented Ryra as a force to be reckoned with – and now they're back with yet more stunning odes to classic tone!

The Tri-Pi Muff

Modelled on the Electro-Harmonix Big Muff Pi, the Tri-Pi delivers devastating fuzz that'll warp your tone beyond recognition. With true bypass configuration and painstakingly handwired, authentic circuitry, this unassuming little stompbox packs a punch!

This pedal is faithful to its ancestry through and through. Combine it with a clean tone for a whole host of wild sounds; saturated clipping that can be very easily pushed into spitting fuzz territory with a few tweaks. The tone control provides you with a surprising number of sweet spots too! Give it a whirl and you'll hear harmonics and overtones that you never thought possible!

Here's what Ryra's Shane Logan says about the Tri-Pi Muff:

"The Rock Your Repaired Amp Tri-Pi is my favourite version of the early Tri-Muff. This recreation has been thoughtfully designed. The Tri-Pi Muff is built by hand in the RYRA shop. With attention to components, true bypass, and even comes with top mounted jacks! This is a pedal for players who love all things Muff."

  • DC Jack
  • 9V Battery

Fuzz

Fuzz is a type of guitar effect that produces a highly distorted and saturated tone characterized by its thick, buzzy, and aggressive sound. It’s achieved by clipping the guitar’s signal in a way that creates extreme distortion and compression, resulting in a velvety, sustaining fuzziness. Fuzz pedals typically feature controls for adjusting parameters such as gain (the amount of distortion), tone (the frequency response of the fuzzed signal), and volume (the output level). By manipulating these controls, guitarists can create a wide range of fuzz tones, from gritty and raw to smooth and singing. Fuzz is commonly used in genres such as rock, blues, and psychedelic music, where it adds texture, power, and intensity to guitar solos, riffs, and rhythm parts. Popular fuzz pedal models include the Electro-Harmonix Big Muff Pi, Dunlop Fuzz Face, and ZVex Fuzz Factory.

Muff

pedal

A pedal is a compact device that guitarists use to alter their instrument’s sound by shaping effects such as distortion, delay, reverb, and modulation. Typically housed in a rugged enclosure and controlled by footswitches, pedals are designed to be placed on the floor for hands-free operation during playing. They can be analogue or digital, true bypass or buffered, and come in countless varieties to suit different styles and preferences. Pedals are essential tools for creating signature tones and adding colour and texture to a guitarist’s sound.
