ThorpyFX's 'The Dane' pedal has been a best-seller here at Andertons; popular for being the signature drive stompbox of our video presenter "Danish Pete". While many users adore everything that 'The Dane' has to offer, there are some that have demanded that just its boost circuit be available as a standalone pedal.

And that's exactly what the ThorpyFX Heavy Water is, a stompbox that features the very same high-headroom clean boost circuit found in the 'The Dane'. But in typical ThorpyFX fashion, they went one step further! The left side features a tweaked boost circuit that not only provides more output, but that also delivers a grittier character thanks to the Germanium diodes lurking within.

Just like 'The Dane', the ThorpyFX Heavy Water dual boost pedal allows you to use each of its two sides independently. However, it's also designed to enable a combination of both, so that you can smash the front end of your amp into tonal submission!

More info about this Product

Guitar Pedals

Guitar pedals are compact effects units that shape and enhance a guitar’s sound, sitting between the instrument and the amplifier. They include gain pedals like overdrive and distortion, modulation effects such as chorus and tremolo, time-based effects like delay and reverb, and essential utilities including tuners, compressors and loopers. Understanding basic things such as pedal type, signal order, power requirements and intended use helps players choose pedals that suit their style, setup and playing environment.

Boost

Boost pedals give your signal that extra push — perfect for cutting through the mix or driving your amp into sweet natural overdrive. Whether you want a clean volume lift for solos or a touch of grit to wake up your tone, a good boost adds clarity, punch, and presence without changing your core sound. Simple, powerful, and essential on any board, a boost pedal can turn a good tone into a great one with just one stomp.

Dual

Dual describes gear designed with two of the same or complementary features working together, such as dual channels, dual pickups, or dual effects. This allows greater flexibility and tonal range, letting players switch or blend between sounds for different styles, settings, or playing dynamics without changing their setup.

Pedal

Pedals are the tools that let you shape, colour and transform your sound, from subtle tone enhancement to bold, creative effects. Whether you are adding grit, space, movement or control, a pedal becomes part of your playing rather than just an add-on. Exploring different pedals is about discovering what responds to your touch and helps your sound feel more like your own.
