Martin's Re-Imagined Series represents the legendary guitar brand's most significant overhaul of their flagship acoustic line. Over 185 years, Martin's original and most discernible models have largely remained intact and unchanged, demonstrating the winning formula that they established almost two centuries ago.
Truly setting the trend within the industry, the Re-Imagined Series, however, marks a change. Unveiled at the 2018 NAMM Show, this fresh line of instruments feature some minor updates, with Martin ensuring that their guitars are more appealing than ever before without abandoning their roots and heritage, in terms of both playability and sound.
Body
In typical Martin tradition, the HD-28 Re-Imagined is crafted from some of the finest tonewoods available. Featuring East Indian Rosewood back and sides, this instrument delivers rich and characterful tones that are balanced and full-sounding, ensuring excellent projection with its dreadnought body shape.
Paired with a Solid Sitka Spruce top, the use of this tried-and-tested material brings out some singing top-end articulation, giving light finger-picked sections and chords the stunning crisp vibrancy you'd expect from a Martin acoustic.
The D-14 Fret body features Martin's scalloped X bracing, meaning that the HD-28 has a strong and robust structure that'll last a lifetime. Offering excellent stability, this bracing also allows the top to vibrate more freely for improved resonance.
