The Marshall Origin ORI20H 20W All Valve Amp Head is In stock available now for fast UK delivery online for GBP 399 + Delivery. This excellent piece of kit is manufactured by Marshall and in New condition and comes with a great warranty.

The Marshall Origin range has been created for those Marshall purists after a single-channel amp that captures all of the original vibe and mojo of the original Marshall amps from the 50s and 60s but with modern features and organic clean and crunch sounds.

You can switch between wattages to increase or decrease your headroom. This essentially means how loud you need to turn it up before it distorts and you get that stunning British overdrive tone. The lower the wattage, the lower the volume needed to get it to crunch. But for bigger venues, you’ll want more headroom so that your tone sounds more ‘open’ and less compressed.

The lower wattages are perfect for home use and studio recording and the higher wattages are more suited to taking pedals really well. This enables them to create a sonic platform for the pedal (especially overdrive and fuzz) to work its magic on.

Classic Marshall

The Origin amps use 3x ECC83 preamp valves and 2x EL34 power valves to generate those classic British tones. Gritty and powerful with a strong mid-range presence, these amps can easily cut through the mix for guitar solos or hold down the rhythm section.

Effects Loop & Emulated Output

The Origin amps have got an effects loop for you to run your delays, reverbs and mods into. This is especially handy if you use the drive from the amp. And it’s got an emulated output for silent recording or for running a direct sound to the front of house PA system when playing a gig.

Tilt Control – 2 Preamp Voicings

The Origin amps have got 2x preamps voicings and you can blend between the 2 using the ‘Tilt’ control knob next to the EQ section. The two voicings are Normal and High Treble which you can tailor depending on the type of guitar you’re using. A dark sounding guitar with humbuckers might want more treble for example.

20W

20W refers to the power rating of an amplifier, indicating it can deliver 20 watts of output. A 20-watt amp is ideal for practice, small gigs, and studio recording, offering a good balance between volume and portability. These amps can provide rich tone and natural overdrive at manageable volumes, making them popular with guitarists who want quality sound without excessive loudness.

Amp

An amp, short for amplifier, is a crucial piece of equipment that boosts the signal from your guitar or other instruments, allowing you to control volume and shape your tone. Guitar amps come in various styles, including valve (tube), solid-state, and digital modelling, each offering unique sound characteristics. Whether you’re practicing at home, recording in the studio, or playing live, the right amp can make all the difference in achieving your desired sound—from clean and crisp to rich overdrive and distortion.

Guitar Amps

Guitar amps are essential for shaping and amplifying your sound, whether you’re playing electric, acoustic, or bass guitar. They come in various types—valve (tube), solid-state, and digital modelling—each offering different tonal characteristics and features. From compact practice amps to powerful stage-ready combos and heads with matching cabs, this category covers all your amplification needs. We stock a wide range from trusted brands, offering everything from clean tones to all-out distortion, perfect for home practice, recording, or live performance.

Head Amplifier

A head is the amplifier unit of a guitar rig that contains the electronics responsible for shaping and boosting your guitar’s signal. Unlike combo amps, a head does not include built-in speakers and needs to be connected to a separate speaker cabinet. This setup offers greater flexibility, allowing players to mix and match different heads and cabinets to tailor their tone and volume. Heads come in various types, including valve (tube), solid-state, and modelling, catering to a wide range of sounds and playing styles.

valve

Valve, also known as tube, refers to a type of amplifier technology that uses vacuum tubes to amplify the guitar signal. Valve amps are renowned for their warm, rich tone, natural compression, and smooth distortion when driven hard. Many players prefer valve amps because of their dynamic response and organic sound character. Although they require more maintenance and can be heavier than solid-state amps, valve amplifiers remain a favourite choice for professional musicians seeking classic tones and expressive performance.
