Ibanez have reissued a classic from the 80s, the WH10, with a few upgrades for the modern player. The original was a favourite of John Frusciante, who was drawn to how he could control how the pedal reacts to feedback.

The WH10V3 retains the sound of the original including the multi-feedback op-amp for smooth filter sweeps and a Guitar/Bass switch so you can choose the optimum filter for your instrument's frequency range. Like the original there's also a Depth knob for controlling the effect level and a Dry output so you can mix an unaffected tone with the wah sound. The WH10V3 also has some improvements over the original such as switchable bypass (buffered/true bypass), and a more durable die-cast enclosure.

Guitar FX

Guitar FX (effects) refer to the wide range of pedals and processors that shape and manipulate a guitar’s signal to create different sounds. From classic distortion and overdrive to reverb, delay, modulation, and pitch-shifting, effects are at the heart of a guitarist’s creative toolkit. Whether analogue or digital, stompbox or multi-effects unit, Guitar FX allow players to express mood, texture, and dynamics in unique ways. Used thoughtfully, they can transform a simple riff into something atmospheric, aggressive, or entirely otherworldly.

pedal

A pedal is a compact device that guitarists use to alter their instrument’s sound by shaping effects such as distortion, delay, reverb, and modulation. Typically housed in a rugged enclosure and controlled by footswitches, pedals are designed to be placed on the floor for hands-free operation during playing. They can be analogue or digital, true bypass or buffered, and come in countless varieties to suit different styles and preferences. Pedals are essential tools for creating signature tones and adding colour and texture to a guitarist’s sound.

About Ibanez

We have new and used Ibanez musical equipment available on our website for fast direct delivery from sellers across the UK & Europe.

The Hoshino Gakki company began in 1908 as the musical instrument sales division of the Hoshino Shoten, a bookstore chain. Hoshino Gakki decided in 1935 to make Spanish-style acoustic guitars, at first using the “Ibanez Salvador” brand name in honor of Spanish luthier Salvador Ibáñez, and later simply “Ibanez”.

In the 1970s, the Nisshin Onpa company who owned the Maxon brand name, developed and began selling a series of effect pedals in Japan. Hoshino Gakki licensed these for sale using the name Ibanez outside Japan. These two companies eventually began doing less and less business together until Nisshin Onpa ceased manufacturing the TS-9 reissue for Hoshino Gakki in 2002.
