Description

Here is what Hiwatt say about the Hiwatt Custom Range Super-Hi 50 Amp Head with Custom Shop Footswitch:

Classic Hiwatt at its core, the Super-Hi 50 is a hot-rodded, extreme hi-gain firebreather designed by heavy-metal Mike Fortin. Clarity, punch, string definition, and tight low-end are at the focus of this amp’s design making it especially suited for drop tunings and extended-range instruments.

Four cascading gain stages with an additional boost provided by the Custom Shop SUPER-HI Footswitch (included).

Independent gain and master volume controls for both channels.

Extreme high gain tones that don’t fall apart. Push this beast to your heart’s content, maintaining constant clarity, articulation, and responsiveness, especially in low tunings.

Hiwatt’s premiere offering for low tunings, baritone, and extended-range instruments.

Effects loop running after the high-gain preamp section for lush time-based or modulation effects.

Based on the the original DR504 circuit, this amp loves gain Pedals in front, faithful to its predecessor.

Amp Heads

An amp head contains the core tone and power of a guitar amplifier without the built-in speakers, allowing you to pair it with the cabinet of your choice. This setup offers greater flexibility over sound and volume, as different speaker cabinets can dramatically change the feel and character of the amp. Amp heads are available in valve, solid-state, and hybrid designs, ranging from low-wattage studio models to high-powered touring rigs. They’re ideal for players who want a modular setup, precise control over their tone, and the ability to adapt their rig to different venues, cabinets, or recording situations.

Amps

Guitar amps cover everything needed to amplify, shape, and project your guitar sound, from small practice setups to full stage and studio rigs. In this category you’ll find combo amps, separate amp heads and speaker cabinets, covering valve, solid-state, and hybrid designs, each offering a different feel and response. You’ll also see modelling and digital amps, built-in effects, footswitches, attenuation solutions, replacement speakers, valves, and essential accessories to keep an amp performing at its best. Whether you’re chasing pristine cleans, classic crunch, or modern high-gain tones, guitar amps and related gear are all about finding the right balance of power, tone, and control for the way you play.

Amp

An amp is an amplifier used to boost the signal from a guitar and shape its overall tone and volume. It plays a major role in how a guitar sounds, influencing everything from clean clarity to natural overdrive and distortion, and is a core part of any guitar setup for both practice and live performance.

Boost

Boost pedals give your signal that extra push — perfect for cutting through the mix or driving your amp into sweet natural overdrive. Whether you want a clean volume lift for solos or a touch of grit to wake up your tone, a good boost adds clarity, punch, and presence without changing your core sound. Simple, powerful, and essential on any board, a boost pedal can turn a good tone into a great one with just one stomp.
