Fender have done it again! The new Vintera II series has built upon the success of the first Vintera launch, giving you accurate recreations of timeless, classic electric guitars from the golden eras of Fender’s history, with a sprinkle of contemporary comforts. The use of more traditional, vintage-style components in the Vintera II series makes them one of the most era specific guitars Fender have made. This puts the ‘50s, ‘60s, and ‘70s eras in your hands for you to wield a stylish, vintage sounding, and an authentic feeling electric guitar! The Vintera II series pays tribute to the innovatively designed instruments that defined decades of music.

‘70s Fender Competition Mustang Bass

The Vintera II ‘70s Competition Mustang Bass is a punchy unique short-scale bass that packs a punch to deliver some hefty tones. A new model to the Vintera range, the Vintera II Competition Mustang features a conventional, small, offset body for a comfortable and unique playing position. The Alder body helps to pack a punch, holding clear tonal resonance; perfectly balanced for a lively beefy sound. The vintage-voiced ’70s split coil pickups are designed to replicate the punchy, growling tone that the Mustang Bass become famous for in the late ‘70s and ‘80s. Although they might seem small, they are packed with deep lows, beefy midranges, and articulate highs giving you a wide sonic variety.

The 30-inch short scale neck is perfect for smaller hands, or for those who prefer to experiment with they’re playing style, allowing you to effortlessly move up and down the neck. The shorter scale also contributes to the overall tone of the Vintera II Mustang Bass’ fat, full-bodied tone.  The comfortable early- ‘70s “C” neck profile provides an inviting feel and familiarity that many have come to know and love. The vintage styling and feel really makes this bass stand out, right down to the racing stripe, and we all know racing stripes make everything cooler; it might even give you the ability to play faster.

Stuff About Bass Guitars

Bass guitars form the backbone of a band’s sound, sitting between rhythm and harmony to give music depth, weight, and movement. Available in electric and acoustic forms, they focus on delivering strong, controlled low frequencies while remaining clear and responsive to playing dynamics. Factors like scale length, string type, and pickup design all influence tone and feel, allowing bass guitars to suit a wide range of styles and techniques. Whether laying down solid grooves or exploring more melodic lines, a good bass guitar anchors the music and brings everything together.

Stuff About Electric Bass Guitars

Electric bass guitars provide the low-end foundation that supports rhythm, harmony, and groove within a band. Designed for clarity, punch, and control, they translate string vibration into a focused, amplified signal that locks in with drums and drives the music forward. Different scale lengths, pickup configurations, and electronics influence feel and tone, from deep, rounded lows to tight, articulate attack. Whether used for simple supportive lines or more expressive playing, electric bass guitars are essential for shaping the feel and energy of a track.
