Electro Harmonix Hum Debugger (Guitar Pedal)

Absolutely eliminates hum from any audio source. Not a noise gate and not a suppressor. Dead silence in your signal chain courtesy of a little EH magic.

  • Power Supply Included

NORMAL/STRONG TOGGLE SWITCH – Sets the amount of Hum Elimination. In NORMAL
mode the Hum Debugger removes only the odd harmonics from the hum present in your signal.

In STRONG mode the Hum Debugger removes both odd and even harmonics from your signal’s hum content.

STATUS LED – When the LED is lit the Hum Debugger is active. When the LED is off the Hum Debugger is in True Bypass mode.

FOOTSWITCH – Toggles the Hum Debugger between active and True Bypass modes.

CONNECTIONS – Connect your instrument to the INPUT Jack. Connect your amplifier or the rest of your effects chain to the AMP Jack.

POWER – Plug the barrel connector from the AC Adapter that came with your Hum Debugger into the power jack at the top of the Hum Debugger. Plug the AC Adapter into a solid wall outlet. You must use the AC Adapter that the Hum Debugger came with and the AC Adapter must have an output of 7.5VAC with the ability to supply at least 200mA of current.

Using the Hum Debugger

The Electro-Harmonix Hum Debugger requires no special tricks necessary to remove
hum. You can use it like you would any other effects pedal. The only thing to remember is you must use the AC Adapter that the Hum Debugger comes supplied with.

When using the Hum Debugger first set the toggle switch to NORMAL mode. NORMAL mode should work well in most situations. If you find that the Hum Debugger is still letting some hum through then move the switch up to STRONG mode, this will remove the rest of the hum.

If you use more effects pedals than just the Hum Debugger we advise that the Hum Debugger be inserted at the beginning of the effects chain.

Electro Acoustic Guitars

An electro-acoustic guitar is an acoustic guitar fitted with a built-in pickup or microphone, allowing it to be plugged into amps, effects units, PA systems, or recording gear. It retains the natural tone and resonance of a regular acoustic guitar but with added flexibility for live performance or studio use. Electro-acoustic guitars aren’t tied to any one style—they’re used in everything from folk and rock to classical and jazz—offering traditional sound with modern convenience.

Guitar FX

Guitar FX (effects) refer to the wide range of pedals and processors that shape and manipulate a guitar’s signal to create different sounds. From classic distortion and overdrive to reverb, delay, modulation, and pitch-shifting, effects are at the heart of a guitarist’s creative toolkit. Whether analogue or digital, stompbox or multi-effects unit, Guitar FX allow players to express mood, texture, and dynamics in unique ways. Used thoughtfully, they can transform a simple riff into something atmospheric, aggressive, or entirely otherworldly.

pedal

A pedal is a compact device that guitarists use to alter their instrument’s sound by shaping effects such as distortion, delay, reverb, and modulation. Typically housed in a rugged enclosure and controlled by footswitches, pedals are designed to be placed on the floor for hands-free operation during playing. They can be analogue or digital, true bypass or buffered, and come in countless varieties to suit different styles and preferences. Pedals are essential tools for creating signature tones and adding colour and texture to a guitarist’s sound.
