The JHS Guitar Pedals always come out on top. This is New is in stock and ready to post out to you, with fast, reliable delivery straight to your door. For more New Guitar Pedals options, read on for full specifications, demos, and secure online ordering.

JHS founder and owner Josh Scott, started out modifying pedals. One of his most popular pedal mods was to the classic Tube Screamer. Undoubtedly a legendary sound, but not without its idiosyncrasies. The Tube Screamer can be someone limited in its usage – Josh’s “Strong Mod” made it a far more versatile pedal without sacrificing its essence.

With the 3 Series Screamer, he has applied his years of experience to bring the “Strong Mod” to the masses in an affordable package. The 3 Series Screamer retains that iconic mid-hump that is the foundation of the Tube Screamer’s tone, but it rolls of less bass and treble to give a fat tone with more balance. It is also less compressed than a stock Tube Screamer, giving it more clean headroom and a more usable gain range, so it works even better as a boost or a full-bore overdrive!

The +/- toggle switch changes the clipping. Up is asymmetrical clipping (which is the strong mod clipping) and down is symmetrical clipping (stock TS9 TS808 style).

Here’s what JHS say about the 3 Series Screamer Overdrive

The JHS Pedals 3 Series is a collection of pedals designed to give you affordability and simplicity without compromising quality. Each 3 Series pedal is made by us in Kansas City, MO, using high-quality parts, quality control, and attention to every detail. Each pedal has three simple controls and one toggle that offer a wide range of sounds, perfect for beginners and professionals alike. The JHS Pedals 3 Series will inspire your playing and help you explore new sounds at a totally approachable price point.

The 3-Series Screamer is the beloved JHS Tube Screamer “Strong Mod”, but in a brand-new affordable pedal. This pedal represents years of Josh playing around with the legendary Tube Screamer circuit and wanting to offer those changes in an affordable package. You will find more clean headroom, better usability as a boost, more versatile drive and tone controls as well as a more pleasing frequency response. This may be the most well-balanced Tube Screamer on earth, but that’s for you to decide. The 3 Series Screamer runs on 9V DC negative centre power and consumes 12mA.

Guitar Pedals

Guitar pedals are compact effects units that shape and enhance a guitar’s sound, sitting between the instrument and the amplifier. They include gain pedals like overdrive and distortion, modulation effects such as chorus and tremolo, time-based effects like delay and reverb, and essential utilities including tuners, compressors and loopers. Understanding basic things such as pedal type, signal order, power requirements and intended use helps players choose pedals that suit their style, setup and playing environment.
