Let us introduce you to the Music Man StingRay Special 5HH Bass Guitar, Faded Vintage Sunburst, Ebony Fretboard.

Introduced back in 1976, the Music Man StingRay has been a legendary instrument that redefined the world of bass guitars. The StingRay Special carries the torch into the 21st century, featuring the same legendary construction and build quality that laid down before, but this time with some contemporary appointments and exciting colourways that make it the perfect choice for the modern bass player.

The 2025 range of Music Man Stingray Special’s are the most lightweight models to date, giving you the smoothest playing experience yet.

Bright Tonal Resonance

Boasting an Ash body, the StingRay offers a bright, articulate, resonant tone, perfect for playing funky slap bass, accompanied by neodymium magnet humbucker pickups, producing a hot output with plenty of spanky treble. Crafted to perfection, the StingRay Special features beautifully carved body contours that provide greater access to the whole fretboard, as well as giving you a comfortable body to hold and play.

Smooth & Stylish

Let’s not forget how fantastic the StingRay feels to play, the gunstock oil hand rubbed wax blend finish on the neck has become a staple of Music Man’s guitars. The Roasted Maple neck is truly sublime with a finish that provides a natural, smooth, and silky feel for high-performance capabilities.

Key Features

  • Highly Resonant – The Ash body soaks up all the tonal juices and produces an incredibly bright tone for your bass to be heard on stage, enabling you to create some articulate and exciting bass lines.
  • Ergonomic Sculped Neck Joint – Play on the higher frets more comfortably thanks to the sculpted neck joint.
  • Stainless Steel Frets — Offer excellent corrosion resistance, with the wide, high-profile fret type providing a quick response and great articulation.
  • 3-Band EQ Preamp – Giving you clean boosted headroom to crank up the volume without losing your tone when adding gain or distortion.

Bass Guitars

Electric bass guitars provide the low-end foundation that supports rhythm, harmony, and groove within a band. Designed for clarity, punch, and control, they translate string vibration into a focused, amplified signal that locks in with drums and drives the music forward. Different scale lengths, pickup configurations, and electronics influence feel and tone, from deep, rounded lows to tight, articulate attack. Whether used for simple supportive lines or more expressive playing, electric bass guitars are essential for shaping the feel and energy of a track.
