Tap

Not actually a tap, but Tap tempo is a feature found on some guitar pedals, amplifiers, and digital effects units that lets you set the speed (or tempo) of time-based effects—like delay, tremolo, or modulation—by tapping a footswitch in rhythm. Instead of adjusting a knob, you simply tap the switch a few times in time with the beat of the music, and the effect matches that tempo. It’s especially useful in live settings, helping players stay in sync with a band or backing track without needing to calculate BPM manually.
