The Revv D20 20w Lunchbox Tube Amp with built in Two notes Torpedo Reactive Load and Cab Simulation is now in stock . You will find it with fast UK delivery online for £999 with P+P. This excellent piece of kit is manufactured by Revv Amplification This product comes with a great warranty.

Revv is well known in the industry for building stellar handmade all-tube amplifiers in Canada. These boutique amps are highly sought after by touring and recording artists all over the world. However, not everyone needs or can afford a full tube-driven rig. On top of this, practicing, recording at home and silent playing on these tonal monsters can be problematic for most, without even more high-end equipment.

Meet the D20. This all-tube 20-watt head is the first ever amplifier to feature built in Two notes Torpedo cab simulation and switchable internal reactive load, to retain your organic feel and tone when playing without a cab. D20 hosts the world’s finest virtual cabinets, virtual mics, speakers, EQ, and reverb wholly on-board for direct recording, silent playing with headphones and live performance to a front of house PA mix.

Being compatible with Torpedo Remote software to fully customise your tone, via USB, makes D20 perfect for players looking to make their rigs even more portable and fly-in-friendly.

Revv set out to build an amp that not only has this new modern feature set, but still sounded incredible on its own as a standalone amplifier. The output can be switched into a 4-watt mode (great for low-volume practice situations) and with a push/pull gain knob for signature Dynamis cleans or characterful crunch and dirt, is a perfect platform for your favourite pedals.

In addition, in reactive load direct mode, the “Pre/Post” switch selects whether the power amp is in the signal chain. This is so you can also take advantage of Two notes’ power amp simulations and dramatically change the character of the D20 with virtual tubes, such as EL84 etc., for even more tonal variation.

The result is an amp package that is convenient, yet truly great sounding and all at a great price.

Amp

An amp, short for amplifier, is a crucial piece of equipment that boosts the signal from your guitar or other instruments, allowing you to control volume and shape your tone. Guitar amps come in various styles, including valve (tube), solid-state, and digital modelling, each offering unique sound characteristics. Whether you’re practicing at home, recording in the studio, or playing live, the right amp can make all the difference in achieving your desired sound—from clean and crisp to rich overdrive and distortion.

Guitar Amps and Cabs

Guitar amps and cabs are just as crucial to a guitarist’s tone as the guitar itself. Amplifiers shape the sound—whether it’s clean and warm, crunchy and bluesy, or full-on distortion for rock and metal. They come in two main types: combo amps, which include both the amp and speaker in one unit, and amp heads, which are paired with separate cabinets (cabs) to project the sound.

Cabs come in various sizes, like 1×12, 2×12, or the mighty 4×12, each delivering different tone and feel. Speakers, cabinet wood, and even open vs closed backs all influence the sound. Matching the right amp and cab gives players control over their dynamics, tone, and presence—whether you’re playing in your bedroom, a studio, or on a festival stage.

Notes

Tube

Tube refers to vacuum tube technology used in guitar amplifiers to amplify the signal. Tube amps are celebrated for their warm, rich, and dynamic tone, producing natural overdrive and smooth distortion when pushed. They respond sensitively to a player’s touch and playing style, offering expressive sound shaping that many musicians prefer. Although tube amps require more care and maintenance than solid-state models, their classic sound and feel keep them popular among guitarists worldwide.
