Hal Leonard is the world’s largest music publisher, renowned for its extensive catalog of over one million titles spanning sheet music, songbooks, instructional materials, and digital resources. Founded in 1947 in Winona, Minnesota, by Harold “Hal” Edstrom, his brother Everett “Leonard” Edstrom, and musician Roger Busdicker, the company began by arranging popular music for school bands.

Headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Hal Leonard has expanded its global presence with offices and distribution centers in over 65 countries, including the UK, Europe, and Asia. The company represents a vast array of artists, songwriters, and arrangers, offering publications for every instrument and ensemble.

In 2023, Hal Leonard was acquired by Muse Group, the parent company of MuseScore, Ultimate Guitar, and StaffPad, marking a significant step in the integration of traditional music publishing with digital innovation.
